Celebrating Greenham Trust’s 20th anniversary since the former RAF airbase was returned to nature, this exhibition looks back at the unique heritage of Greenham Common, from 1199 when the manor of Greenham was granted to the Knights Hospitaller, through to tank testing during World War I, its time as an RAF/USAF airbase in World War II, the Cold War missile base, the famous peace protests of the 1980s and more recently, its transfer back to common land.
