Non-funded Areas
We prioritise funding initiatives with the broadest positive impact. This might involve saying no to some projects to avoid replicating existing efforts and/or to spread our support fairly across the community.
You will see on our other pages, here, the wide range of funding we provide to many sectors across our area.
The type of projects we will not fund, without exception, are as follows:
- Projects outside our area of operation (West Berkshire & specified ward areas in north Hampshire)
- Projects in retrospect – meaning the event has taken place already or item has already been purchased
- Items / areas considered a statutory responsibility
- Projects for which statutory funding has been withdrawn
- Commercial businesses
- National or International Disasters (unless in our area of operation)
- Organisations applying for funds that will benefit one individual’s personal requirements
- Projects submitted by individuals rather than organisations
- General appeals or letters requesting donations; a full application that follow our guidelines must be submitted via our website.
- Feasibility Studies or research projects
- Projects for items/refurbishment which are the responsibility of the Applicant’s landlord (The landlord should apply directly, if for charitable purposes)
- Supporting organisations providing funding in their own name (although we will consider partnerships)
- Organisations that do not have charitable aims
- Animal Welfare
- Projects that will generate profit
- Payments for membership subscriptions
- Provision of broadband for rural villages
The above is for general guidance only. Greenham Trust reserves the right to not fund any project it choses, and our decision is final.
