Greenham Trust Announces Grant Funding Deadline for Autumn Grant Round 2019

This year, Greenham Trust made £330,000 available for their Reactive Grant Scheme to be distributed in two grant rounds. During the Spring grant round, their Distribution Committee allocated just over £160,000 across 57 projects leaving a significant balance for the upcoming Autumn grant round.

Greenham Trust are now inviting applicants to submit their projects via www.thegoodexchange.com for the Autumn grant round for which the closing date is FRIDAY 11TH OCTOBER 2019. Applications received by this date will be considered for a grant and notified of a decision by Mid-November 2019.

The Spring grant round reviewed a diverse range of applications and supported a variety of projects. For example, Community Youth Project received £5000 for their summer activities, Berkshire MS Therapy Centre received £2600 for their physiotherapy sessions and Newbury Soup Kitchen received £3000 for their running costs. Hungerford Library & Community Trust also received £5000 for their start up costs for the Hungerford Hub to use the Library outside of hours. Their project enabled them to run events such as workshops, talks and exhibitions.

Andrea Hodgkin, Manager at Hungerford Hub saidIn April 2019 Hungerford Hub was lucky enough to benefit from a reactive grant of £5000. This has been enormously beneficial to us – we are a young charity just about the celebrate our 1st anniversary, and we desperately needed funding for annual running costs such as intruder alarm servicing, cleaning and the employment of a part time manager. This money has given us the time and resources to build our charity with the aim of becoming more self-sustaining. This funding means that the Hub has a bright future. It will continue to be used, outside of library hours, as a Hub for the people of Hungerford and the surrounding area. Over the past year we have held all sorts of events from workshops and talks to exhibitions and concerts. We let the space to local groups and individuals who need a small, comfortable space for their own events. It is truly a community resource.”

Jaz Ghalley, Grant Administrator at Greenham Trust says: “We look forward to receiving applications for new initiatives that will support a wide range of beneficiaries. We will be shortlisting new applications as well as projects that have already been fundraising on The Good Exchange. I recommend new applicants review our funding criteria on our website before applying. My suggestion to applicants that are already fundraising for their project is to gain as much community interest as possible by encouraging people to donate towards their project. Any applicants seeking advice and guidance for this process can contact me directly.”

Chris Boulton, Chief Executive at Greenham Trust says: “Over the years, Reactive Grants have made a huge difference to a number of projects in the local area. Whether your project is small or big, providing the funding requirement is under £30,000, the Reactive Grant scheme is ideal for local charitable organisations in need of funding. Our Distribution Committee will consider both capital and revenue projects. If you require assistance in applying, visit our website or contact our grant team who are always happy to help.”
