Greenham Trust – Our operations during Coronavirus

Our immediate priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff, trustees, organisations we support and tenants.

Day to day working

Greenham Trust is running a reduced team in our offices at Greenham Business Park with most members of the team working from home. We are all fully enabled for homeworking with secure access to our network and systems to work efficiently and effectively from home. Broadway House in Newbury is still open, and we expect this to continue.

Drive Donations and Fundraising

The Good Exchange platform continues to operate normally and now is a great time to take advantage of its crowdfunding capabilities which you can use to drive donations and fundraising. This is especially important if your project has any open match funding offers available through the platform as each donation made could be doubled! Here are a few ideas:

  • Share out the link (URL) to your project page as much as possible (e.g. on your website or via emails, newsletters and social media posts) to encourage donations
  • Ask your supporters to come up with innovative and fun ideas for fundraising activities that can be completed whilst self-isolating and ask them to pay any money they raise into your project on the platform
  • Ask your corporate partners to pay their donations through the platform to take advantage of any match funding offers (or to talk to The Good Exchange team about offering a grant or match fund)
  • If you’re not sure where to start, visit the platform’s website resources page to view a wide range of social media training videos and ‘how-to’ guides.

Receiving your funding

For all those who are receiving funding from us, please do stay in touch. We will be as helpful as possible during the coming weeks and months so that you can focus on the vital work of supporting the community in West Berkshire and north Hampshire.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and are reviewing how to ensure all donor and grant applications can continue uninterrupted.

We expect all payments on existing grants will be maintained as scheduled until the end of April.

If you think you might require some emergency funding or will struggle to meet a reporting deadline please let us know. We are here if you want to contact us about the situation you’re facing. Please email grantenquiries@greenhamtrust.com to get in touch with the grants team.

Community Support Hub for West Berkshire

In order to mobilise support for our vulnerable communities in West Berkshire over the coming months together with West Berkshire Council, and the Volunteer Centre West Berkshire we have created a Community Support Hub to give guidance and help coordinate local charities and volunteer organisations who can help.

The Hub will be meeting weekly to monitor needs across the District and ensure that they are understood and met.

At Greenham Trust we are currently assessing the level of financial assistance that will be required to support the various organisations involved. Although Central Government has promised financial support and this will help, it is likely to be very specific and might take a considerable time to unlock.

North Hampshire

We are also liaising with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council regarding how we can help in north Hampshire.
