Greenham Trust’s first Silver Ticket awarded to Daisy’s Dream

Local resident, Cath Matthews was the lucky winner, from over 280 entries, of Greenham Trust’s Silver Ticket Competition in the Newbury Weekly News Christmas Supplement.  Her prize was to nominate a local charitable project on The Good Exchange to receive a £500 grant from Greenham Trust.  Cath nominated Daisy’s Dream to receive the funding.

Daisy’s Dream is a Berkshire charity which supports children and their families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement of someone close to them.  The funds will be used to employ a therapeutic practitioner. They provide a free service offering help, support, guidance and information to help children come to terms with bereavement and provide them with the tools they need to successfully continue their individual journey through life.

On nominating Daisy’s Dream as her chosen charity, Cath Matthews said: “I became aware of Daisy’s Dream when my grandchildren raised money for them last year by completing a mini triathlon.  I then researched the charity and felt they are a very worthy cause to receive this funding.”

Vicky Maunder, fundraiser from Daisy’s Dream said: “We are absolutely delighted to be nominated for this £500 donation from Greenham Trust.  The money will make such a difference as it will allow us to support a West Berkshire family, facing or following bereavement, for an entire year.”

Chris Boulton, Chief Executive of Greenham Trust said: “This is our first silver ticket and follows on from the golden ticket initiative which we introduced in 2019.  It is a great way to involve the local community in our charitable giving and to help to make a difference to the lives of others”.

Greenham Trust will be offering more Golden and Silver Tickets throughout 2020.  The next Golden Ticket event will be Pitch to the Panel at Newbury Corn Exchange on 10 June 2020.  For more information on Pitch to the Panel and our golden ticket events go to: https://greenhamtrust.com/category/community-events/
