Greenham Trust announces new funding initiative for 2023 – The Escalator
Newbury UK. 10th January 2023. Greenham Trust today has announced its biggest challenge to date. After the success of “£25k in a day” in 2022 and our “Double Match Days” previously, for this year we are supercharging our annual challenge with The Escalator. Charitable organisations in West Berkshire and north Hampshire will be able to apply if they have a capital or revenue project over £75k. The event will run over a week and the target amount to raise will increase every day however, the matching ratio will also increase every day. So, on Monday the charity or organisation will have to raise £500 and it will be matched £1 for every pound raised, this will increase daily so by Friday they need to raise £4,800 – when it will be matched FIVE times. This means that in one week the charity can raise up to £50,000 for their project.
Rob Daniels, Head of Grants said “This challenge is not just about raising funds, though that is one part of it. It’s about adding momentum to projects, engaging people, raising awareness and bringing local communities together for a great cause. As I know from personal experience, the Challenge can also be a lot of fun.”
Chris Boulton, CEO Greenham Trust said, “Along with our regular Trust Top Up matched funding initiative, general grants and appeals like the Cost of Living funds, these challenges have become a well-loved part of Greenham Trust’s giving portfolio. It can give opportunities to projects which they wouldn’t ordinarily get. I wish the best of luck to everyone who enters.”
Greenham Trust will be running two Escalator events in 2023 – one in June and one in September. Charitable organisations are invited to apply through the Trust’s on-line platform thegoodexchange.com. The closing date for applications for June is Friday 31 March.
