February Newsletter

Welcome to Greenham Trust’s February Newsletter!

Our grants team is here to offer advice, guidance, support, and updates on all our funding opportunities.

During February, the Trust met with several local frontline charities to talk about the issues that the current cost of living crisis is causing. There was a similar theme running across all the meetings. The cost of living is starting to bite. There are a number of different threads around mental health, debt, food bank usage, and energy bills which used to be singular to individuals but the numbers are increasing every day and now with complex multiple concerns attached.  One of our local charities described the situation as now being chronic rather than a crisis.

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis and welcome Applicants to apply now if they are supporting people with:

Warm spaces with activities
Foodbanks
Emergency meal provision
Warm clothing, blankets, and essential goods.
Energy efficiency projects

Project of The Month!

Newtown Village Hall
Project: Disabled access and road safety improvements

Last year, Newtown Village Hall applied for funding to improve their disabled access, car park and renovate the hall.

They reached their fundraising target in 6 months through public donations and matched funding from Greenham Trust and were able to achieve a successful makeover for the hall.

Further improvements are underway, but the village hall is already back in regular use with a renewed program of regular village social events in their calendar.

Well Done Newtown Village Hall.
